WALK DESCRIPTION

Providence’s Lower Broad Street is one of the most active and densely occupied commercial streets in the city. It serves a diverse community with an extraordinarily eclectic range of services, from bars, restaurants, and cafes, to numerous ethnic boutiques, salons and convenience stores, even a full service grocery. We will walk from the Parkview Café to the America’s Food Basket and back to experience a unique piece of urban Providence.

WALK LEADER: Jim Barnes

Jim Barnes is an architect and professor at RISD. He and his wife Victoria live in the South Elmwood Historic District just down the street from America’s Food Basket.
