Some area folks have been visiting the Roger Williams Park Zoo for years via the usual route: they drive down Elmwood, enter a gated entrance and wind thru to FC Greene Memorial Blvd and the Zoo main parking lot. We invite you to approach the Zoo in a whole new way today, whether you plan to stay for a Zoo visit, or just long enough to walk and chat with us. Grab your $4 cash fare for the RIPTA bus (R-Line is free!) and meet us at the new Roger Williams Park Gateway Center at 1197 Broad Street. We’ll enter the Park on Hawthorne, and walk to the Zoo entrance via the back parking lot. (There are ways for us to avoid the cars.) You’ll need sensible shoes, a water bottle and a creative imagination. Mobile phone camera is optional. One mile in total.
