WALK DESCRIPTION
Our Jane’s Walk will explore the urbanization of the Elmhurst and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods. We will examine the role of Diocesan and Public lands and projects. We will consider the way public-private partnerships in transport and private owned automobiles impacted the remaining farmland in the city and transformed it into more densely populated immigrant communities. We will also consider the importance of urban wetlands and how they contribute to city life.

Mark serves on the Faculty at La Salle Academy, he currently teaches Civics and World History as a member Social Studies department. He is a 3rd generation resident of both the Elmhurst and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods.
