Drink + Build

HOURS

Sunday May 7, 1-5pm

MEETING POINT
The Guild PVD Beer Garden
PVD Innovation District Park

DESCRIPTION

Grab a Beer and Build a City!
Continue the conversations about our city by building your own at the Guild PVD Beer Garden in the Innovation District Park (near the Pedestrian Bridge). What do you want to see in the future of Providence? Using thousands of found objects and vintage and contemporary building blocks from around the world, collaboratively build the Providence of your dreams with the public launch of miniCities. (open to all ages: young and young at heart).

Have anything at home you want to add to the city? We take donations! Feel free to bring your tiny cars, trees, architectural blocks, and even monsters and dinosaurs, or other odd objects that could be reimagined as part of a city, that are looking for a home.

Like all Jane’s Walks events, this program is free. No tickets or reservations needed.

LEADER: Caroline Nye

Caroline is the City Organizer for Jane’s Walk Providence and Director of Doors Open RI, which she launched as a way of connecting people to places in our communities through fun and innovative public programs. Over the past decade, Caroline’s work has evolved from leading architectural tours and writing a Chicago-based building blog, to creating innovative place-based public programs in cities across the US. Prior to moving to Providence, she helped launch and later managed the Chicago Architecture Center’s “Open House Chicago,” now the largest architecture and urban exploration festival in the country.
